Frequently Asked Questions
What is Project LEAP?  Project L.E.A.P. or Lee Educational Assistance Program is a not-for-profit, parent run corporation established in 2003 as a 501 (c) (3) to benefit the students of Richard Henry Lee Elementary School.

Why have both PTA and Project LEAP?
Project LEAP was created to fund large cost programs that PTA isn’t designed to support.   Project LEAP continues to successfully raise the funds to cover the shortage designated by the School Site Council at Lee Elementary School.  We work alongside PTA, the teachers, staff and administration to meet the changing needs of our school.  All of the proceeds raised by Project LEAP stay in our community and benefit the students of Lee Elementary.

What Programs are funded by Project LEAP?
Project LEAP provides for a credentialed part-time technology teacher in the media center and the ability for music class to be taught at all grade levels.  Past funding has provided for interactive Smart Boards in the media center and selective classrooms, retention of the critical 20 pupils to one teacher ratio in third grade, part time P.E. and music teachers.

How Project LEAP Raises Money?  Project LEAP hosts an Annual LEAP to Excellence Dinner and Charitable Auction
where the majority of the funds are raised each year.  This is a fun casual event where parents, teachers and staff can come together in support of Lee Elementary. Project LEAP also hosts events like the Lee Legacy Tile Wall, Special Person’s Day Lunch and Family Fun Night Fundraisers during the year.

Who Runs Project LEAP?
Parent volunteers serve as managing board members each school year to oversee corporate operations. In addition, there are many parents, teachers and staff involved in various capacities of the fundraising events sharing their expertise, talents, and company resources for the betterment of Lee Elementary.
