Why Donate? It really does take a village to raise a child these days. The California budget cuts have severely impacted our schools, class size went up and many teachers lost their jobs. Schools are doing what they can with the money they are alotted, but it just isn't enough. All donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.
Where does the money raised go? When Project LEAP was orginally founded, a proactive decision was made to become a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) Corporation. Project LEAP remains passionate about ensuring that 100% of the money raised directly benefits the students at Lee Elementary School. This year, Lee Elementary School was able to retain its part-time Media Center teacher becuase of the funds raised at last year's LEAP to Excellence Dinner and Auction.
How can my business benefit as well? We know that the choice to donate is done from a philosophy of charity and community. BUT we also acknowledge it is a business decision, especially in today's economy. Project LEAP also wholeheartedly encourages Lee Elementary families to support businesses that support Lee Elementary School. Along with business recognition in the LEAP to Excellence Auction Bid Book that is distributed to Lee's 600+ families and a listing on the Community Support page on this website, donors can also choose to advertise their business.
What are the advertising costs? Advertising is very inexpensive. A business card size ad is $25.00, 1/4 page ad is $50.00, 1/2 page ad is $75.00 and a full page ad is $150.00. All ads come with a listing on the Community Support page of the Project LEAP website. A full page ad comes with a highlighted color to attract Lee families to your listing. Banner advertisements on this site can also be purchased for $200.00.
What makes an ad more visable? Obviously the larger, the more noticible, but the ads that seem to generate the most "buzz" are the ones that have coupons associated with them. Teachers are more likely to bring attention to anything that has a "value added" aspect. Project LEAP will work with you to make your choice to donate a win-win for all parties involved.
What can I donate? A suggested donation is literally anything you would like to received yourself. Some examples include: one of a kind items, special access passes, sporting events, tours, theater tickets, themed gift baskets, merchandice donation, gift certificates, donation of services and direct monetary donations.
